Non League legend Tom Greaves scored his 300th career goal during Bury AFC’s 5-0 demolition of St Helens Town.

The former Bradford (Park Avenue) star finally reached the milestone with his goal in the 92nd minute.

Greaves has had a fantastic career since making his Avenue debut as a 16-year-old in the early 2000s after former Leeds United and Bradford City striker Carl Shutt spotted huge potential in him.

Greaves, who played mainly rugby until the age of 13, scored his first Non League goal during Avenue’s trip to Worcester City in the Conference North in March 2005.

At the time his strike partner was former Halifax Town maverick forward Steve Oleksewycz.

Plenty more goals have followed since during his two stints with Avenue plus goal-laden spells with the likes of Garforth Town, FC United of Manchester and Ossett United.

His greatest moment is arguably the last minute of extra-time winner for Avenue in the 2012 NPL Premier Division play-off final against FC United.
