Sam Smith’s goal on the stroke of half-time was enough to give Handsworth a 1-0 win at Thackley.
The result ends a run of two consecutive league losses.
The pair have taken the helm following the club’s decision to part company with Russ Eagle on Monday.
Dodworth and Spowage guided Handsworth to the Sheffield & Hallamshire Senior Cup win over Penistone Church on Wednesday night at Olivers Mount.
Handsworth are next in action when they host Penistone again on Wednesday, this time in the league.
