National League Round-Up

Jordan Slew scored twice as FC Halifax Town went top of the National League

FC Halifax Town went top of the National League after storming past Eastleigh in a 4-0 win at The Shay.

Jordan Slew’s double was the centre-piece as Pete Wild’s side climbed above Chesterfield who were busy in FA Cup third round action at Premier League giants Chelsea.

Slew pounced on a mistake from Eastleigh defender Andrew Boyce to hand Halifax a first half lead.

A long range effort from Slew almost midway through the second doubled the lead.

Jamie Allen smashed in the third after the ball landed at his feet from a scramble from Matty Warburton’s free kick.

Warburton got on the score-sheet himself to mark a fine performance by firing into the top corner to put the icing on the cake.
