Roy Mason welcomes Sanchez Payne to Steeton

Former Leeds United academy player and BBC Radio Leeds presenter Sanchez Payne has joined Steeton.

The forward-thinking player signs for Steeton after period away from the game.

He has played for clubs like Bradford (Park Avenue), Ossett Town and Garforth Town in the past.

Roy Mason told Steeton’s website: “I am delighted to bring Sanchez into the club.

“He is a quality player who has played at a higher level for a number of clubs, so I see it as a coup for Steeton that he has decided to sign with us.

“Sanchez recently took some time away from the game but wanted to get back into football and was looking for a club.

“Chris, the manager of Supporting Charities, pointed myself and Sanchez towards each other so I must thank him for the role he played in getting this deal over the line.

“When I spoke with Sanchez, he wanted to join Steeton for all the right reasons and what he was looking for in terms of a club on and off the field is something that we can offer.

“He will be a huge addition to the side as we head towards the run-in this season.”
