Yorkshire Amateur slay North East giants

NPL Division One East Round-Up

Yorkshire Amateur player/assistant manager Nathan Cartman

Yorkshire Amateur pulled off a magnificent 2-1 win at North East giants and promotion-chasers Shildon.

Nathan Cartman scored his first goal for the Ammers since his move from Scarborough Athletic to place them in the first half.

A very rare goal from Ryan Serrant doubled the lead before half-time.

The Ammers faced an Alamo situation when Shildon at the beginning of the second half.

Goalkeeper Max Culverwell then made himself a hero by saving another penalty – following on from his heroics against Stocksbridge Park Steels on his debut.

The Ammers even went down to ten men as Marko Basic was sent off for a second bookable offence in the last five minutes.

Shildon themselves had a man sent off in the last minute.

Sheffield FC lost 6-0 at Worksop Town.
