Wombwell Main are hoping to have Danny Frost back in their side in the next month

Goal-seeker Danny Frost could bring showbiz to Wombwell Main before the end of the season.

Shaw Lane Aquaforce legend Frost, one of Barnsley’s most-loved Non League strikers, has enjoyed a glittering career with titles, promotions, great escapes and loads of goals and razzmatazz.

But he has not put his boots this season due to injury.

Frost is in constant communication with Terry Simon and the Wombwell boss says his side will benefit massively from the striker returning.

“I was with Danny the other day and he said he’s going to make another comeback,” Simon told Non League Yorkshire.

“He looks really fit but he hasn’t kicked a ball for six months.

“He said he was running fit but not football fit.

“I’m hoping that Frosty will make an appearance next month.

“He’ll certainly bring something to us.

“We have young Ry Wingrove who is the top goal-scorer.

“We have Atley Jackson who is only 18 and he’ll pick up loads off Frosty.

“Frosty will love playing with him and he’ll take him under his wing.

“Then in two years’ time Frosty will tell everyone that he’s made Atley what he is!

“There’s young Bailey Cowsell who looks really sharp so we have three-or-four really young strikers who would benefit from Frosty.

“He’s experienced, he’s clever and he knows how to make runs and how to wind people up.

“Hopefully he’ll come back and offer something to the team.

“People might say he hasn’t been on-the-pitch but if you look at what he does off-the-pitch, he contributes a lot to Wombwell Main.”
