Brad Kemp propelled Penistone Church well and truly into the race for a top three finish after scoring the second half winner in the 1-0 victory over AFC Mansfield.

Kemp fired home with 20 minutes after great work from club stalwart Callum Lee.

The goal came not long after Mansfield striker Russ Duggan, who recently rejoined them from Yorkshire Amateur, was sent off.

Steve Lenthall’s Church are now only a point behind third-placed Garforth Town with a game-in-hand.

Church even have an outside shot of overhauling second-placed Eccleshill United with ten games to go but such a feat would take some fortunate.

Division One

Armthorpe Welfare striker Adam Baskerville

Armthorpe Welfare stormed to a 7-0 hammering of Clipstone at home.

Adam Baskerville scored four times in the second half.

Jack Shaw, Jamie Austin and Rhys Plater also netted.
