Football Idol

Steven Gerrard. Can’t think of many players that can pretty much do everything, I think he had it all.

Biggest influence on football career

Dad, I was at Sheffield United and Scunthorpe when I was younger. He always supported me 100% with training and games all over the country. He still watches me now which can’t be easy some weeks

Career Highlight

Making debut against Leeds United at Elland Road. We got battered but the experience was great in front of so many fans

Most Memorable Game

Halifax Away / Play off Semi Final in Conference North for Gainsborough Trinity. We drew the first leg 2-2 and knew the away game was going to be really difficult, we managed to win the game 1-0.

Lowest moment in football –

Rupturing ACL for Gainsborough. Roughly spent around 14 months out.

Biggest regret in football

Wouldn’t say I have one

First semi-professional manager

Former North Ferriby manager Steve Housham

Steve Housham. Signed me at Gainsborough and worked with him many of times. Got a lot of time for Housh, he’s a great gaffer and an even better bloke

Non League Debut

Came on as sub for Boston United. Think it was against Stockport

First Red Card in Non League

Matlock away. It was a nightmare as it was after about 5 minutes. They caught us on the break and I got straight red for being last man.

Best Non League Goal

Scored a free kick away at Corby for Gainsborough which I’ll always remember. About 25 yards out and went right into the top corner

What do you want to achieve in football in the future?

Be nice to keep playing for as long as my legs will let me, then hopefully look to take on some coaching / management role in the future

Favourite Non League Ground

Stockport / Wrexham
