EV2 Sheffield & Hallamshire County Senior League Premier Division

Jon Wragg has stood down as manager of Ecclesfield Red Rose 1915

Ecclesfield Red Rose 1915 have started searching for their new manager after Jon Wragg’s decision to stand down.

Wragg told his tearful players the news following the unfortunate 4-2 defeat at big guns Dodworth Miners Welfare – their final game of the season.

The game rounded off Wragg’s only campaign in charge which has seen Red Rose finish in a respectable seventh place during their first full season in the top flight.

Parties interested in succeeding Wragg are asked to email secretary Malcolm Boswell on bozzy140@aol.com.

The decision to leave ends the Wragg’s four-year association with Red Rose.

Wragg and brother Matt were assistants to Matt Griffin for three seasons and the trio guided Red Rose into the Premier Division in 2019.

Look out for an interview with Jon Wragg on Sunday.
