Emley academy boss to step down

Emley academy chief Sam Sutton is stepping down

Emley academy manager Sam Sutton is stepping down due to increasing work commitments with Barnsley.

Sutton has enjoyed a very successful time at the helm of the youth set-up since his appointment in February 2020.

His coaching team of Pete Walker and Alex Overton are also moving on.

Current under 18s boss Dom Webster will become the club’s new academy manager.

Omar Sinclair will be the under 23s assistant boss.

Marcus Pound, Emley’s Director of Football, said: “Huge thanks to Sam and his team for putting in the foundations of our Academy, which we will continue to build on with Dom and Omar.

“The Academy is essential to the growth of Emley AFC, with over 12 Academy players making the team sheet on the first team in 2021/22.

“We hope to see even more of this going forward.”
