Paul Clayton has stood down as Harrogate Railway first team coach

Mick O’Connell hopes Paul Clayton will return to the Harrogate Railway management team in the future.

First team coach Clayton has had to step down after one season working with O’Connell.

“Paul has increased family and work commitments so he has had to step down,” O’Connell told Non League Yorkshire.

“He couldn’t really commit but he may have (under 19s manager) Rob (Youhill) out occasionally.

“He’s not completely left the club but who knows by Christmas if things settle down, you may see Paul back?

“I still speak to him every day.

“He’s not left on bad terms. The door is open for Paul to come back.”
