Baldwin gets hat-trick as Steeton score SIX on opening day

Steeton star Luke Baldwin

Luke Baldwin got a hat-trick as Steeton incredibly beat Cleator Moor Celtic 6-1 on the opening weekend.

For a team who had a difficult pre-season, to win by such a margin is remarkable – especially when one of the biggest questions has been who will replace Kayle Price’s goals.

Omar Anjum pounced in the tenth minute to begin the rout.

He soon doubled his tally by getting on the end of Toby Jeffrey’s free kick.

Cleator pulled one back after the half-hour but Steeton effectively blew them away before the break.

Baldwin’s spectacular volley restored the two-goal cushion and then Andy Briggs got himself on the score-sheet.

Baldwin added a trademark free kick on the hour to increase the lead to five.

He sealed his hat-trick with 13 minutes to go with a strike from the edge of the penalty area which flew into the top corner.
