Langton’s last gasp volley puts Steels through in FA Cup

Mitch Langton’s dramatic last minute winner sent Stocksbridge Park Steels into the third qualifying round of the FA Cup and knocked out the 2021 heroes Marine.

His volley places the Steels to within two wins of the First Round proper and the historic opportunity to potentially take on a side from the Football League.

Ross Goodwin’s headed opener just after the hour was cancelled out by Marine’s Jack Dunn.

A replay loomed until Langton hammered home from Charlie Oglesby’s header to seal a 2-1 win.

Scarborough Athletic are also through as they held to win 3-2 against Dunston. 

Brad Plant struck twice while Michael Coulson also netted.

Russ Wilcox’s Farsley Celtic will host National North title favourites AFC Fylde in a replay after a magnificent 

Tom Allan equalised for the Celts in the second half.

Liversedge won themselves a second bite of the cherry against Chorley as Paul Walker’s last minute equaliser forced a replay following a 1-1 draw.

The journey is over for Pontefract Collieries as Chester FC won 2-0.

Bradford (Park Avenue) were victims of a giant-killing as they lost 2-1 at Ashington.

Will Longbottom triggered a dramatic finish as his late goal brought Avenue back to life.

Eddie Church did equalise but his goal was ruled out for an offside which has been since proved to be an incorrect call.

Guiseley were beaten 2-0 at Blyth Spartans.

Whitby Town lost 1-0 at home to Marske United.
