Neil Parsley led Farsley Celtic to the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division title in 2011

Neil Parsley’s nine-year tenure in the Farsley Celtic dugout has ended as he left the club 24 hours after his joint manager John Deacey departed.

The dramatic turn of events come just two weeks after Farsley won promotion by beating Ossett Town in the play-off final at a packed Throstle Nest.

Farsley have thanked Parsley in a statement confirmed that the club will make a further statement in the next 24 hours.

Former Guiseley manager Parsley has been one of Farsley’s best servants as he steered the club through its greatest crisis.

He oversaw the team while the club was in administration in 2009. Despite a ten-point deduction he was close to steering them to safety in the Conference North, until administrators Mazars cruelly pulled the plug and closed the club down.

He stayed on when Farsley reformed and led them to the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division title at the first attempt in 2011. He remained in sole control until Deacey returned last year.
