Pontefract Collieries managerial duo Craig Parry and Craig Rouse with Vaughan Redford

Promoted Pontefract Collieries have made their first marquee signing of the summer with the capture of Liversedge striker Vaughan Redford.

The prolific forward has been a major part of Liversedge’s two solid campaigns under Jonathan Rimmington.

His older brother Warren used to play for the Colls under former Leeds United captain Brendan Ormsby.

Assistant manager Craig Rouse said: “Vaughan has been a long term target of ours and is a lad we are delighted to get on board. We’ve followed his progress over the last two years and we are pleased he has chosen his local club as the place to continue his progression.

“Despite his young age he has attracted a lot of interest from non league clubs so we are obviously pleased that he saw his immediate future with us.”
