New Worsbrough Bridge manager Lee Morris

Legendary Non League striker Lee Morris has taken charge of his local team Worsbrough Bridge.

Morris is the permanent replacement for Josh Wright, who stood down two weeks after almost a year in charge.

Former Harrogate Town, Shaw Lane and Buxton striker Morris, whose managerial CV includes spells with Frickley Athletic and Goole AFC, has been tipped to do well by Worsbrough’s hierarchy.

Worsbrough chairman Pete Schofield said: “We believe that Lee’s contacts and knowledge will help us to push on and his passion and enthusiasm at interview provided us with confidence that he is the right man to take the club forward.

“We would also like to thank Rhys Meynell who stepped in during the last couple of weeks and helped to steady the team and gained a fantastic win at Armthorpe Welfare on Saturday. We would also like to thank the many great candidates that expressed interest in the job and wish them well for the future.

“We are excited about the rest of the season and hope the community will come and show the team their support.”
