FA Cup heroes Knaresborough Town eventually overcame Garforth Town after a see-saw battle in East Leeds.

Knaresborough triumphed 4-2 in the end, but an ever-improving Garforth side pushed them all the way.

The Miners were unlucky to fall behind close to half-time. Former Harrogate Railway wing wizard Rob Youhill was chopped down in the penalty area and Daniel Thirkell converted the spot kick.

Garforth responded straightaway with a stunning long range strike from Niah Payne. Rob Hunter’s men went ahead two minutes into the second half as Shaquille Clarke-Adams’ cross somehow found its way into the net.

The lead lasted three minutes as giant Gregg Anderson headed home from a Knaresborough corner.

Brad Walker placed the visitors back in front on the hour and Rob Worrall sealed the points for Knaresborough in the latter stages.

Liversedge were beaten 2-1 by Bottesford Town. Joe Walton got ‘Sedge’s goal.

Handsworth Parramore lost 3-1 at Barton Town. Handsworth had taken the lead through Jonathan Williams.
