A second half blitz of goals led Penistone Church to a first win in three league games and to a 5-0 hammering of Grimsby Borough.

After a goal-less first half, Penistone had the game sown-up by the 70th minute mark.

Winger Luke Stewart got Church firing and almost within a minute of his goal, Sam Scrivens popped up with the second.

Jordan Coduri’s wonderful long range free kick effectively sealed it, but Church weren’t finished.

Captain Danny Howes scored the fourth and Scrivens doubled his own tally in the final few minutes to score Church’s fifth.

Roy Fogarty broke Knaresborough Town’s resistance on the stroke of half-time to set up Yorkshire Amateur’s 3-1 success.

Casey Stewart started the move and his pass set Adam Priestley. The Gibraltar International squared to Daniel Nadiole whose effort was saved before Fogarty buried the rebound.

Fogarty watched an early second half penalty get saved before he actually doubled his tally. Stewart was at the heart of it. Stewart latched onto Matt Dempsey’s ball and rounded the goalkeeper before sliding it into Fogarty.

Jack Carr brought hope back to Knaresborough quite quickly with a header at the back-post. But they then lost their goalkeeper Sam Lee to injury.

Steve Smith put the Ammers out of sight late-on following a mesmerising run.

The Ammers’ next opponents Goole AFC were beaten 6-0 at home to Liversedge.

Lax defending from the rebound from Alfie Raw’s shot allowed Paul Walker to almost waltz the ball into the net for the first half deadlock breaker.

‘Sedge showed their quality and power with two quick-fire goals in the first ten minutes of the second half  to set up the heavy win.

Ollie Fearon’s header made it two before a very powerful counter-attack ended with Joe Walton breaking clear and finishing.

Raw smashed his goal home after Fearon flicked on before Walton headed in from close range for the fifth. Ash Flynn added ‘Sedge’s sixth goal in the last few minutes.

Eccleshill United came from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 at Bottesford Town. Sam Awty and Jonny Irving scored.

Joe Colley and Sam Barker guided Garforth Town to a 2-0 win over Thackley.
