Matt Sykes’ late hat-trick put the icing on the cake for Emley AFC who won 6-1 against in-form Bottesford Town.

Bottesford had been unbeaten in five league games but Emley swept them aside with their second consecutive victory,

Jack Bennett fired the first rocket with the opener in the seventh minute.

That was cancelled out by Kieran McCaffrey but George Doyle quickly put Emley back ahead.

He got another in the second half before it was left to Sykes to grab the headlines.

Athersley Rec claimed an unlikely point from the trip to Goole AFC as they were 2-0 down with seven minutes to go.

Goal Machine Josh Dacre had scored in both halves to put Goole in charge – taking his tally to six goals in four games.

However, Charlie Clegg pulled one back and Josh Brown made himself the Athersley hero with the equaliser.

Garforth Town striker James Burgess

First half goals from Jamie Barkway and James Burgess ensured Garforth Town overturned an early deficit to win 2-1 at Winterton Rangers.

Paul Marshall’s men remain unbeaten since the end of August and are third in the table going into next week’s clash with fancied Sherwood Colliery at home.

Handsworth lost for the second successive game in the league as they were beaten by a late goal in the 3-2 defeat at Sherwood.

Jack Harrison netted first for Handsworth before they were pegged back and found themselves 2-1 down.

Mitch Dunne levelled on the hour but it was Sherwood who took the points.
